THERMOCENE
Zero impact does not exist.
From this idea comes “Thermocene” a multidisciplinary journey weaving together music, architecture, cinema, and art, produced by MYBOSSWAS, EX., ARTECO, and KINO Produzioni. Reflecting on the urgency of a new and necessary synergy between the environment and society, the work explores the evolution of interconnected cooperation through the invasive traces of human-made devices in the era of climate change.
An artistic path that begins as a traveling exhibition and expands with a film and a publication.
The journey began in Turin in March 2025 with the presentation of an immersive multimedia installation by Giorgio Ferrero, Rodolfo Mongitore (Mybosswas), and EX., curated by ARTECO. The installation was showcased at the Antiche Ghiacciaie of Mercato Centrale Torino, and simultaneously at Gallerie d’Italia, which also featured a live performance by sound artists Giorgio Ferrero and Rodolfo Mongitore.
The installation is part of the development process for a new film and audiovisual project by Giorgio Ferrero of the same name, currently in production by Kino Produzioni and Mybosswas.
The work presented is a visual and sonic symphony created by Ferrero and Mongitore within two futuristic bivouacs, located 3,000 meters above sea level in the Piedmont Alps. These structures were designed by EX., a design studio founded by Andrea Cassi and Michele Versaci.
Drawing from gathered signals, the two composers, separated by thirty kilometers and immersed in glacial solitude—lacking even essential services—but connected through a digital signal, created a synchronized visual and sonic symphony. The performers evoke a world in which nature and humans consciously collaborate in the creation of a new collective consciousness.
logline
While visionary minds imagine new ways of sustainable living, two composers, isolated in the Alps, compose a symphony recording human traces in the air, revealing that zero impact doesn’t exist.
